Texas A&M football transfer portal departures: Malick Sylla - Mississippi State

This is a loss that many Texas A&M football fans were bemoaning, in classic fashion. Sylla had not produced a heck of a lot over his time in College Station, but he had a few flashes against New Mexico State and fans were ready to see him as the next big thing.

If he is on the verge of a breakout, though, it will come in a different Maroon and White than Aggie fans were hoping. It was consistency that was his problem in College Station, so maybe a change of scenery will indeed help.

He should be one of the most talented guys on a Mississippi State defense that was dreadful last year, so I'd expect him to see a lot of playing time. He'll get a chance to face off with the Aggies in Kyle Field early next year, so I wouldn't be surprised if he has something special for his former team in that one.
