Texas A&M baseball is still the No. 1 ranked team in the country even after their loss to Cal Poly over the weekend, but now that seems like the last thing on anybody's mind, as horrible news came down about their starting third baseman.

Gavin Grahovac's injury is a blow, but not the end of the world just yet

Gavin Grahovac provided Texas A&M baseball with the tools to a College World Series appearance last season, but now, the Aggies are going to have to do without him for the rest of 2025, as it was reported by TexAgs reporter Ryan Brauninger that Grahovac will need surgery to repair his left shoulder.

This is no doubt a tough blow that will be felt for a while to the Aggies, as fans seem to think that luck is not going their way. An early season injury to Caden Sorell is already leaving a hole to the team. The up and coming talent of Terrence Kiel Jr. will be exciting to watch, but this is no doubt another hole left in the Aggie lineup.

Of course, the Aggies have no shortage of talent to put out on the diamond. Brauninger sent out a nugget of information on which players to watch in Grahovac's absence.

Mike Gravohac, the father of Gavin, gave an update on his son and provided his reaction for the news that broke down.

This is great for the Aggies to know, given that he will be a high draft pick in the near future, and Grahovac will be looking to stick it out in the long run in Aggieland.

This is no doubt a blow for the Aggies to continue their dreams to a College World Series Championship, but there's plenty of depth on this team, and they still have plenty of hitters who can get the job done.

The Cal Poly game was a reality check for the Aggies to get in rhythm before SEC play. It's better to get those mistakes out the way now before SEC competition.
