Texas A&M is sending quite a stacked list of players to the NFL Combine this year, displaying just how far Mike Elko has brought this program in a very short time. The Aggies only had three names drafted last year, and one of those was a player that Mike Elko brought in via the portal, so this is hopefully the beginning of a long stretch of many Aggie players headed to the pro ranks.
The head man for the Aggies mentioned in the preseason that how talented a team is can be judged after the fact by their NFL draft picks, not the recruiting rankings coming in. If that's true, we could be looking at one of the most talented Aggie teams to ever play, if these draft projections hold.
Full list of Texas A&M NFL Combine participants: Which Aggies will be in Indianapolis?
According to a list released by Billy Liucci, here are the Aggie players who will be headed to the NFL Combine:
RB Le'Veon Moss
WR KC Concepcion
OL Chase Bisontis
OL Ar'maj Reed-Adams
OL Dametrious Crownover
OL Trey Zuhn
TE Nate Boerkircher
DE Cashius Howell
DT Albert Regis
DT Tyler Onyedim
LB Taurean York
LB Scooby Williams
CB Will Lee
That's a total of thirteen players, ten more than the Aggies had drafted last year. That's not even to mention the fact that guys like Rueben Fatheree, Dayon Hayes, and Tyreek Chappell were not included on this list, and well could find themselves as selections during the final day.
While this could lead to some anxiety about the upcoming season for the Aggies, especially seeing how many line-of-scrimmage players are outbound, the Ags have done an excellent job of rebuilding through the portal, which is a shot in the arm for confidence.
There are players who will be risers upon showing their stuff in Indy, and there are some who will be fallers based on measurables. Every player on this list, however, stands a great chance at becoming an NFL draft selection, which should make for an entertaining few days among the Aggie faithful.
