The Carolina Panthers have made a move fans will love for years to come, as they have selected Will Lee III in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Carolina got Lee with the 129th pick overall, which was a great value for them.

Lee has been one of the most reliable options for Texas A&M football in the defensive backfield over the last two years. He was one of Mike Elko's first portal commitments coming over from Kansas State, and he immediately injected a whole new level of play into the position from what the Aggies had beforehand.

He is excellent if not elite in press man coverage— there are very few that can get past him, as his impressive Combine numbers would suggest. Where he is a little bit more questionable is in zone coverage, as he can tend to get lost at times when the coverage switches up.

Lee is active as a defender, though, registering 8 pass break ups for the Aggies this past season to lead the team. He was also the leader in that regard in 2024, notching 10 PBUs for Texas A&M in his first year in the maroon and white.

There are also a few physicality questions with Lee when it comes to things like run support at the position, but he had similar questions coming into his tenure with A&M and did a lot to dissuade them up front. Down the stretch of 2025, however, they began to reemerge.

Overall, though, if you are looking for a lockdown corner with the athleticism and build to keep up with any NFL receiver in man coverage, Lee is your guy. He can still develop in some areas, but that's true of every prospect taken at this point in the draft.

Congratulations to Will, and congratulations to the Panthers. Lee is a corner that will immediately push for some playing time, and NFL receivers will have an unpleasant surprise waiting for them when he gets on the field in a Carolina uniform.
