Texas A&M defenders have become stars in the making this season. Dayon Hayes, Cashius Howell, Dezz Ricks and Taurean York have been incredible to start the season. Ricks has held his ground against opponents' best receivers, but it seems the established Will 'The Blanket' Lee will have other plans after the season.
Lee III says that he will forgo a waiver for his JUCO seasons and declare for the 2026 NFL Draft. This is well deserved, as Lee III has been one of the more outstanding corners during his time with Texas A&M.
This is to be expected, but it also shows that A&M will be missing a great one next season.
Lee III confirms he's going to the 'big level'
"I think everybody know, but, I'm going to be gone after this year. Trying to get the big level. "Will Lee III
Lee III 10 led the nation in pass breakups, and returned an interception for a TD against Texas. As long as he stays healthy, Lee III should be one of the nation's best cornerbacks on the charts.
As veteran starter, Lee III has been one of the voices of this defense. Sure, Taurean York has been the anchor and the actual voice of the team, but Lee III came in with plenty of great experience at Kansas State.
The news isn't surprising much, but it shows Lee III wants to be as transparent with fans as much as he can. There are plenty of Aggies who's stocks will be rising, and Lee III's will be no different. Good for Lee III to prepare for his NFL journey. He deserves it as one of the best at his position.
