WIth the 129th overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select former Texas A&M conerback WIll Lee III. Lee will join his fellow Aggies Demani Richardson and Nic Scourton on the already solid Panthers defense and will have a chance to make an immediate impact.
Some fans can be upset by not taking the more local CB from South Carolina, but Will Lee III is the real deal. His nickname, "The Blanket", became popularized his first year in Aggieland after Missouri Coach Eli Drinkwitz planted an A&M blanket and note in his former WR Theo Wease's hotel room to get him motivated. Unfortunately for Mizzou, Lee still locked down Wease all game in the Aggies' beatdown of the Tigers.

Will Lee III will not likely be a game 1 starter on the outside, but could easily find his way as the slot corner or a rotational piece on the outside for the Panthers. He is very solid in press coverage off the snap, has very solid top end speed, and is a very solid tackler in run defense.
He may not be the guy in year 1, but there's no doubt that Lee is a great addition to the already solid defense (who won the NFC South).
Will Lee III was a solid defender the past two years for the Aggies and led the Aggie secondary as its #1 corner usually guarding the opposing team's best receiver. Panthers fans can check his tape from college.
Once he builds up his NFL tape, they'll like him even more. Time will only tell, but I think Will Lee III has a very bright future in Charlotte. Check back for more NFL draft coverage as the day goes on.
