Shewmake vs. Bowling Green
D1 Baseball’s Kendall Rogers noted the potent Texas A&M offense in his top five on Saturday evening. The Aggies outscored Bowling Green 50-7 over the three game clean sweep of the Falcons. Freshman Braden Shewmake, batting in the three-hole, was a large part of that.
On Friday night, his collegiate debut, Shewmake finished three for five with four RBI and a run scored. During the first of two on Saturday, he went one for three with a walk, a run scored and two RBI. He closed out the weekend series Saturday evening two for five with a double, a run scored and two RBI.
Shewmake is currently batting at .462 after the first weekend series of the year. He is also playing error free ball so far as the starter at 2nd base, taking over for junior Ryne Birk who was drafted by the Houston Astros in 2016.
