New Mexico jumped out to a 1-0 lead via an RBI single in the top of the 2nd. The Aggies answered quickly though, scoring 10 unanswered in the next three innings to run-rule New Mexico 10-1 in five innings.
Samantha Show ignited the offensive onslaught with a two run-shot over the center field wall, scoring Ashley Walters in the bottom of the 2nd.
The Offense Picks Up… Fast
The Aggies would go on to put up a five-spot in the 3rd. It all started with a lead-off walk of Kaitlyn Alderink who would later score on a out out single by Tori Vidales.
Vidales would score after a double by Ashley Walters and a single by Sarah Hudek. After Hudek swiped second, both her and Walters would come around to score on a double by Kristen Cuyos. The fifth run of the inning would score when Erica Russell worked a bases loaded walk.
Three more runs would score in the 4th, started off by a lead-off single off the bat of Tori Vidales followed by an RBI triple by Ashley Walters. Freshman Blake-Ann Fritsch was put in as a pinch runner for Walters and scored after Sarah Hudek smacked a double into left field.
Senior Reagan Boenker, a Bryan native, was put in to pinch hit from Samantha Show after Kristen Cuyos worked a walk. Boenker quickly poked a single into right field, loading the bases. The 10th run of the game would score on a shallow single by pinch hitter Celena Massey.
The Aggies run-ruled New Mexico 10-1 in 5 innings.
