Aggie Sophomore Jazmine Fray

Meet Jazmine Fray. She is the leader of the 800 meter event and one of the best in the country. The sophomore is poised to lead the aggies in outpacing their competition.

On February 11, Jazmine set the collegiate record for the 800 meter. She ran it in an incredible 2:00.69, beating out the record of 2:00.75 set in 2005. What is even more fascinating about this performance is that it was an entire FOUR seconds off of her previous best. If Fray can keep up the momentum and push her teammates to do the same, the Texas A&M women’s track and field team could make waves in the postseason.

The women’s 4×400-meter team holds the nations’ best time in 2017.  The 4×400 meter relay squad has two sophomores and two freshmen, but despite their youth they set a world-leading time of 3:29.74.

In general, the women’s track and field team is sending a lot of youth to the SEC championships. Don’t let their inexperience fool you. The Aggies are the No. 10 women’s team in the country for a reason.
