Texas A&M Softball: Aggies Complete Undefeated Week with Sweep at Ole Miss

SEC Play Continues vs. Ole Miss

After taking 2 of 3 from the Bulldogs of Mississippi State at home, Texas A&M Softball headed to Oxford to take on the Rebels of Ole Miss. The Aggies did well on the three game road trip, sweeping the Rebels outscoring them 15-3 in the process.

Pitching

Junior Trinity Harrington took the mound to open the series and kept the game close. Her performance just edged out that of the Ole Miss starting pitcher to give the Aggies the win. She pitched a complete game, allowing just 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits. This was her 6th victory of the season, putting her at 6-1 on the season and setting her ERA at 0.88.

For the second time in the week, Samantha Show took the circle for the Saturday matchup between the two clubs. The game ended in the Aggies favor, another run-rule victory. Show pitched all five innings, allowing only 2 hits in the shut out victory. She is now 10-1 on the season with an ERA of 0.79, good for 15th best in the nation. The Aggies won 8-0 in 5 innings.

Junior Lexi Smith took the circle as the starter in the series finale as the Aggies went for the sweep. Smith allowed only 1 run on 2 hits in her six innings of work on Sunday afternoon. She also hit a season-high strike out total with 14 on the afternoon. She improved to 8-0 on the season. Her ERA now sits at 1.24, good for #41 in the nation. 

Trinity Harrington came in to pitch the final inning, earning her first save of the season. Harrington allowed 1 hit, but not a run dropping her ERA to 0.85, good for #20 in the nation.
