The Aggie Offense Stays Hot

The Aggies found themselves down early, 1-0, on Friday night in Oxford. But in the top of the 3rd, Sarah Hudek smacked a double off the wall to tie the game for the Aggies. She would move to 3rd, scoring Ashley Walters on a wild pitch later that inning for the lead.

Ole Miss tied the game at 2 in the 4th, but a Riley Sartain homer in the 5th and an Ashley Walters double in the 7th gave the Aggies a 4-2 win to open the series.

Saturday’s match-up was all about the Aggies. The ladies set the tone early, putting six on the board in the second inning. Kristen Cuyos cleared the bases to open the scoring with the first grand slam this season for the Maroon and White. Two more would score on a single by Kaitlyn Alderink.

Sarah Hudek smacked a homer to center field, scoring Ashley Walters, in the 5th. This put the Aggies up by eight and allowed the game to be considered a run-rule victory through five innings.

The close of the series on Sunday was another close one, but the Aggies once again found a way to win. The offense was lead by Riley Sartain, who was credited with all three RBI in the afternoon contest due to a sac-fly in the 1st, a bases-loaded walk in the 2nd, and a double in the 4th.

Ole Miss would get a run on a single in the 6th, but the Aggies, namely Trinity Harrington, held strong for the win and ultimately the sweep.
