Texas A&M Football: 2017 Week 4 SEC Power Rankings
By Cord Lewis
Previous rank: 2
Last week: 37-7 LOSS @ Mississippi State
This week: vs. Syracuse
The Tigers were the major disappointment in week three. Going to Starkville and getting blown out was not expected by most, but there is no changing the past. Like Florida, this team needs offense improvement very soon.
Previous rank: 7
Last week: 37-7 WIN vs. LSU
This week: @ Georgia
The Bulldogs have made their way to number four from the bottom half of the rankings. Nick Fitzgerald led Mississippi State to a major upset against LSU, and the sky is the limit (Alabama) for this explosive team.
Previous rank: 4
Last week: 24-10 WIN vs. Mercer
This week: @ Missouri
Auburn once again looked quite sluggish on offense against Mercer. This team could be thought of as overrated, but a close loss to Clemson is keeping the respect of the nation.
Previous rank: 3
Last week: 42-14 WIN vs. Samford
This week: vs. Mississippi State
Georgia is gearing up for a huge matchup against Mississippi State this weekend. In order to prove their dominance, the Bulldogs must find a way to stop Nick Fitzgerald. Expect a close one in Athens this Saturday.
Previous rank: 1
Last week: 41-23 WIN vs. Colorado State
This week: @ Vanderbilt
Alabama easily took care of Colorado State, but this week the Tide have a much tougher matchup than originally expected. If Vanderbilt’s defense is truly top-notch, this game could be a low-scoring nail-biter.
