2. The East is Georgia’s to lose

There are only two teams in the East with an undefeated conference record right now. Only one of them (in my mind) has a legitimate shot at winning the East this season.

Florida (2-1, 2-0) had a lot of questions going into their game with Kentucky (3-1. 1-1) after struggling against Michigan and beating Tennessee on a Hail Mary. They managed to escape Lexington with a win, but that game winning touchdown was the only lead the Gators had all game.

For Georgia (4-0, 1-0), freshman Jake Fromm continued to impress in his second start for the injured Jacob Eason. The Bulldogs shut down a Mississippi State (3-1, 1-1) team that manhandled LSU last week behind Fromm’s 201 yards and 2 touchdowns.

With Eason week to week throughout the rest of the season you have to think that the (Georgia) Bulldogs are sitting pretty this season.

If anyone is going to challenge the Bulldogs this year it may actually be Kentucky. They hold a 1-1 conference record for the moment. However, they’ve played incredibly well throughout the first four games of the season. I think we’ll eventually see that loss to Florida was a fluke and not “normal” (the Wildcats have now lost 31 straight games against Florida) or expected.
