1. Kellen Mond must continue to mature

Kellen Mond needs to be quicker with his decision making. We’ve seen some really good things, but we’ve also seen things that you would normally see from a true freshman. For the Aggies to have a successful 2017 they will need their young quarterback to continue taking strides in the right direction.

In the South Carolina game there were several opportunities where he could have taken off and used his legs to keep drives alive. In the passing game he needs to be willing to take some shots, I remember only one deep ball being thrown (Kirk please remember to use both hands). Yes, he had his best game from a completion percentage perspective, but without taking some chances it will be difficult as competition gets better to continually drive the field to get touchdowns.

take the shackles off and let him be the play maker he is.  You recruited him to be an athlete, let him do it.

I do not mind if the game plan was to nickel and dime the Gamecocks. but you’re asking your defense to do something they’ve not shown they can consistently do which is get off the field. We did show some new wrinkles in the run-pass option game and I can only hope you see the next wrinkle off those plays against the Tide and Gators. It was late in the game but you saw the zone read with the pass option.

If the staff will continue to let him play and run around I think that will make this offense fun to watch and maybe show us a glimpse of the early Sumlin years with Johnny Manziel. Mond will never be Manziel, but as he matures, he could get close. My only ask to the staff, take the shackles off and let him be the play maker he is.  You recruited him to be an athlete, let him do it.
