2. Kellen Mond with out passes Nick Fitzgerald

Both Kellen Mond and Nick Fitzgerald have had solid starts to their seasons so far at the midway mark. Mond struggled in his unexpected performance against UCLA while Nick Fitzgerald was only able to generate about 150 total yards of offense vs. Georgia.

Surprisingly, even with the limited time at UCLA, Mond has actually thrown for more yards than Fitzgerald: 1225 yards to 1179 yards. Fitzgerald has done a lot better on the ground and will hope to use that mobility against the Aggie defense again.

Mond has continued to improve each game and Saturday will be another major chapter in his development as a college football quarterback. Mississippi State relies so much on the run and when Fitzgerald does drop back to pass, he will have to deal with Landis Durham and Otaro Alaka coming at him. Look for both Kellen Mond and Nick Fitzgerald to have to have big games but for Mond to narrowly outthrow Fitzgerald.
