3. Special Teams, big plays

The exact moment Auburn lost the game against LSU the last time they played was when LSU returned a punt for a touchdown in the third quarter to bring the game to within two points. They are vulnerable on special teams, and all world kicker Daniel Carlson has been less perfect than in years prior. The Aggies should use this to their advantage.

Special teams can steal a game that the offense and defense alone cannot win, and the Tigers have shown a weakness there. A punt return, or another blocked kick, can give huge momentum. It’s not lost on the Tigers, however, and they may try and limit opportunities.

It’s also an easy way for Christian Kirk to find his mojo that has been missing the last few weeks. Since the Arkansas game (where he returned a kick for a touchdown), he has been different.

Maybe it’s a confidence thing, or he may be less than 100 percent. But a big return should bring him back to form. I know I keep calling for Kirk to have a big game, but he needs to for this offense to get in gear and score points.
