1. LSU Tigers

When: Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018

Venue: Kyle Field, College Station, TX

I might as well have called this 1a, because honestly any of the top four could be considered the most important game of 2018. Ultimately I landed on LSU for two reasons: its place on the schedule and it’s a pretty big reason why Jimbo Fisher was hired.

Sumlin went 0-6 against the Bayou Bengals, in large part because his teams couldn’t finish seasons. More often than not those games weren’t close, either. As soon as the calendar flipped to November the Aggies couldn’t buy a conference win, particularly a win against this team.

I feel fairly confident that Sumlin would not have been let go quite yet if he had managed to beat LSU in a night game in November this season. 8-5 win a win over LSU to finish the season feels a lot different from 8-5 with another loss to LSU.

A win in his first season would be a great sign that the Aggies are finally trending upward in November and not down.

2017 score: 45-21 LSU win

Early 2018 prediction: Aggies WIN
