3. This team can go the full 12 rounds

Texas A&M has been able to out-talent a good portion of the teams on their schedule this season. Robert Williams has been talked about as a potential NBA Draft Lottery pick and the host of veteran guards present a mismatch against even the better teams they’ve played to this point. And then there’s the walking double-double, Tyler Davis.

Kentucky’s roster is filled with blue chip players. The Aggies weren’t going to out-talent the Wildcats, they were going to have to beat them on the court. There’s a reason why the same blue-blood programs are in the Final Four every year. Teams that win in March need both components. They need to have enough talent to make a run and enough basketball savvy to go out and win the games.

It wasn’t a perfect performance, but the Aggies proved they could withstand punches and stand in the ring for a full 10 rounds. There were lapses and several bad moments, but the tenacity to keep battling cannot be underestimated. This team is still raw and unpolished, but it’s a group of fighters that aren’t going to give up. That’s what’s keeping their postseason hopes alive.
