Texas A&M Baseball: Aggies sweep Long Beach State with a bang
By Tim England
Game 3: Texas A&M defeats Long Beach State 5-1
Critical errors and poor fielding doomed Long Beach State early on as Texas A&M claimed the sweep with a 5-1 win Sunday afternoon. The Aggies piled on five runs in the first two innings as Mitchell Kilkenny claimed his fourth victory of the season.
Kilkenny continued his dominance from the mound, pitching eight great innings allowing one run on five hits. Kilkenny continues to pitch phenomenally on Sunday afternoons and has particularly done a great job going deep into games. Kaylor Chaffin finished the game off retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth.
After the performance at the plate on Saturday, the Aggies five runs on seven total hits seemed small but it was enough to get the job done. Most notably, Michael Helman continues to impress, going 3-for-3 at the plate Sunday afternoon. Chris Andritsos did not record a hit but racked up two RBI on a sacrifice fly and a walk.
