Game 3: Texas A&M defeats LSU 3-1 (Full Box)
If you didn’t know who Mitchell Kilkenny was going into this season, you sure do now. The Perfect Game USA Midseason All-American led the way for the Aggies first conference series victory as the Aggies sealed it with a 3-1 victory over LSU.
On a cold day in College Station, Kilkenny was on fire and delivered a complete game for Texas A&M. Allowing one run on five hits, Kilkenny earned his seventh win of the year and improved to a perfect 7-0.
Texas A&M only managed six hits in Saturday’s victory but it was just enough to take the final game from the Tigers. Michael Helman once again played well in the leadoff spot, leading the Aggies with two hits.
Hunter Coleman led off the scoring with a Whammy to left field and George Janca had a 2-RBI triple in the sixth. It was nice to see a big hit from Janca, who has been struggling so far this year and hopefully will capitalize on his performance from Saturday.

This was a vital series win for Texas A&M after a really slow start to conference play. With the next five games in College Station, this next week is a big opportunity for the Aggies to get back on track overall. It starts with a big one as the Texas Longhorns make the trip over from Austin to face the Aggies on Tuesday night at Olsen Field.
