Game 3: Texas A&M defeats Alabama 3-2 (Full Box)

It took extra innings but Texas A&M picked up their first conference sweep thanks to a Braden Shewmake walk off single that gave the Aggies a 3-2 victory. After blowing a two-run lead late, Nolan Hoffman picked up his fourth win of the season while shutting down the Tide when it mattered most. Stephen Kolek was unfortunately saddled with a no decision after a phenomenal performance on Sunday. Starting on a series finale for the first time, Kolek pitched a solid 7.2 innings, allowing only one run on three hits while striking out three. It will be interesting to see if Rob Childress sticks with Kolek in this spot in the rotation.

Alabama finally found a way to limit the Aggie production at the plate, limiting Texas A&M to only three runs on nine hits. Michael Helman accounted for all three Aggie runs while Logan Foster was a perfect 3-for-3 on the day. Shewmake became the hero for the Aggies, going 2-for-4 with two RBI’s including the walk off single.
