Otaro Alaka

The Aggies are going to be stacked at the linebacker position this season. Otaro Alaka is one of the few remaining guys from the 2014 recruiting class and he was one of the best players in that class. Alaka is another player Elko will have at his disposal with versatility and speed. He finished the 2017 season with 78 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and one interception.

He will always have a place in Aggie fans’ hearts as the Houston, TX native flipped from t.u. to the good guys after Mack Brown stepped down from his position as the Longhorns head coach. Alaka was the 162nd ranked player nationally and 18th in the state of Texas, according to 247 Sports.

After a so-so freshman season and missing the most of the 2015 season due to injury, Alaka has come on to be an excellent player for the Aggies. He was granted a medical redshirt in 2015 so he enters his redshirt senior season with high hopes for taking this Aggie defense to the next level, and possibly setting himself up to have his name called in the 2019 NFL Draft.
