Charles Oliver

Oliver might be the one player Aggie fans did not realize had such a successful time on the field in 2017, mostly because the Aggie pass defense was atrocious. A&M finished No. 85 in passing yards allowed last season.

That was of no fault of Oliver’s. He made his snaps count when he saw the field, even though he didn’t rack up a lot of stats. He made 20 tackles, had one sack and eight passes defended. He didn’t record an interception.

However, he locked up receivers. Just look at this stat from scouting website Pro Football Focus.

Albeit a small sample size, A&M will be looking for Oliver to step up his play with more snaps in 2018. He came to Texas A&M as the 24th best cornerback in the 2016 class and a 4-star prospect.
