Anthony Hines III

HInes was one of the studs in the 2017 recruiting class. He came in as the No. 65 overall player and the second best inside linebacker. However, he didn’t see the field much in 2017. In any other year, he’d probably be ready to take over as a sophomore, but the Aggies are loaded at linebacker.

They have all three returners in Tyrel Dodson, Otaro Alaka and Buddy Johnson, all three of whom were highly sought-after recruits. There is also fellow 4-star 2017 recruit Santino Marchiol looking to earn playing time.

Hines is too talented to keep holstered on the sideline. Elko will have to find creative ways to get him on the field, such as in pass rushing situations. He could challenge Johnson for a starting outside linebacker spot as well.

It’s a good problem for Elko to have, but one he’ll have to figure out.
