4. Season has gone as expected

We touched on this in previous slides, but as much as critics love to point at the blowout loss to Alabama as indication the Aggies are not ready to compete, the Aggies are right where most could have expected before the season started.

I predicted here the Aggies would be 5-1 at this point. I did believe they had what it took to knock off Clemson. Truth be told, if the refs don’t inexplicably change the fumble out of the end zone call on the field, and then rule the play stood as called upon review, there’s a good chance the Aggies win that game.

Still, they were 13.5 point underdogs at home and put up a fight. They were almost four-touchdown underdogs to Alabama and were within a couple of scores until just before halftime. Alabama is just that much better than everyone else in the country.

We will learn a lot about this team in the next month.
