The Texas A&M Football team was home to Kyler Murray for a season

Kyler Murray’s career before his Heisman campaign in 2018 isn’t talked about very frequently. There’s a good reason for that, as he didn’t do much before that time period.

In fact, a lot of fans forget that Murray was the quarterback for the Texas A&M Football team for a while. Out of high school, Murray had originally committed to play football in College Station. He would only play a single season with the Aggies though, transferring after a short period of time.

That said, there was a very interesting season-long quarterback battle between himself and Kyle Allen.

After an off-season quarterback competition, Allen would win the quarterback job. He would struggle for a while though, leading the Aggies during two consecutive losses, at which point Murray was thrown into the game. Murray wouldn’t play well either, throwing for 5 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. It just wasn’t a good fit.

That said, he will still go down as one of the most talented quarterbacks in Texas A&M Football history, just not one of the greatest in terms of career accomplishments. That’s why he’s an honorable mention on this list.
