The Texas A&M Football opponent No. 5: Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Aggies will get their first real test on the football field against the Mississippi State Bulldogs in their fifth game of the year. Fortunately for them, this game will be played at Kyle Field in College Station, giving Texas A&M home-field advantage.

Last season, Mississippi State had a rough year, starting hot against the reigning champion LSU Tigers before quickly falling back down to earth with a brutal loss against Arkansas. This team is capable of having a strong year in 2021, but they’ve got a lot to work on after a 4-7 season last year.

The Bulldogs’ offense is terrible, as they struggled to score at any point outside of their first game of the season last year. In a four-game stretch that included Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Alabama, Mississippi State only managed to scrape together 30 points between the four games. Their offense is really bad.

Because of this, I think the Aggies will get the win, regardless of whether or not their own offense has started to click yet. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Texas A&M only has to

This matchup will be extremely telling. The Aggies should win, but the way that they win will say a lot about who this team is. If they’re barely squeaking by in a low-scoring affair, it could be a bad sign. If they run up the score on the Bulldogs, it may show that they’re reading for their next opponent.

Prediction: Win, 5-0
