Texas A&M Football LB Aaron Hansford is set to step into the spotlight in his 6th year of college football

The Aggies lost a key piece on the defensive end in Buddy Johnson, a player who led the team in tackles in each of the past two seasons. It’ll be a tough hole to patch, but Jimbo Fisher has the talent required on this roster to keep his defense afloat.

One of the players whose performance will be vital to this team’s success is Aaron Hansford, a double-redshirt senior. I’m calling him that because he’ll be taking advantage of an extra year of eligibility, entering his sixth season of college football.

Last year, he was the team’s second-leading tackler to Buddy Johnson, so in 2021-22, he’ll grab the baton and look to lead his team defensively.

Hansford also recorded 7 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in 2020, two numbers that he’ll look to improve upon in 2021. Without Johnson eating up stats, you can all but guarantee that Hansford will be able to take a jump forward to help his draft stock.

Expect a big year out of the most experienced player on this Texas A&M roster. Hansford is a name that Aggie fans will almost be tired of hearing by the end of the season.
