Nobody will be surprised to hear that Texas A&M Football head coach Jimbo Fisher has been receiving praise this offseason. The Seminole-turned-Aggie has brought success anywhere he has gone at the college football level, most memorably bringing a title to Florida State.

At Texas A&M, he has already elevated the program beyond what fans had seen for nearly a century of football, finishing last season with a top-5 ranking. Fans could practically smell the College Football Playoff from how close they were.

Even so, the team fell short.

On the bright side, this will give Fisher and his Aggie football team a newfound motivation as the 2021 season approaches, with their sights set on the upcoming playoff. But in order to get there, they may have to go through Alabama.

An anonymous college football coach was quoted saying that Texas A&M Football and Jimbo Fisher could be the guy to take down Alabama

In Lindy’s magazine, an anonymous coach was interviewed about Jimbo Fisher and his work with the Texas A&M Football team. The anonymous coach had nothing but praise, notably referring to the Aggies as a team that could beat Nick Saban. Here’s the exact quote.

"“He could be a coach that beats Nick Saban because Jimbo knows (Saban’s) defense. And Jimbo’s got the best defensive coordinator (Mike Elko) in the league, schematically and adjustment-wise. He coaches his front better than anybody in the league and they play the best technically.”"

Notably, the coach mentions the fact that Jimbo Fisher knows Nick Saban’s defense, which is in reference to the fact that Fisher was an offensive coordinator under Saban during his time at LSU in the early 2000s.

The same anonymous coach went on to compare Aggie defensive coordinator Mike Elko to LSU’s former defensive coordinator in Dave Aranda, who was coaching the Tigers on their College Football Playoff National Championship victory run.

Hopefully, the Aggies can replicate some of that success.

Another anonymous coach weighed in on Jimbo Fisher, calling him one of the best quarterback developers in the game. This quote will excite fans about the 2021-22 season, where the Aggies will have a new face taking snaps under center, whether it be Zach Calzada or Haynes King.

Other coaches are buying into the Jimbo Fisher-Texas A&M hype, which is always a good sign for a coach. Hopefully, the offseason hype motivates the Aggies to live up to the standard set by last year’s team.
