Texas A&M Aggies vs. Kent State Golden Flashes

2020 Record: 3-1

Key Players: Dustin Crum (QB), Ja’Shaun Poke (WR), Kesean Gamble (LB)

Notable Team Stats from 2020: Offense YPG 606.5, Defense YPG 424, RedZone TD Efficiency 19-27, and 4th Down Conversions 7-8.

Analysis: The Golden Flashes’ name isn’t just the mascot for Kent State. Their offense loves to go at Flash speed. This team loves to run the hurry-up offense and not only that they will wear down defenses. The Golden Flashes played 4 games last year and ran on average 81 plays a game. To put that in perspective Texas A&M only ran about 67 plays per game.

Kent State has a very explosive and very aggressive that isn’t afraid to go for it on 4th down. Defense can be suspect at times in the running game but their secondary and D-line love to pressure and press. Dustin Crum is a very efficient and smart QB that may give Texas A&Ms defense some issues throughout the game.

But at the end of the day, Texas A&M should be able to have this game in hands by halftime. Kent State is a perfect team to start the season with as they will be no pushover if their offense is as effective as it was last year. This Kent State team is projected to be in contention to win the MAC. The defense will have a good warm-up game and the offense will have plenty of opportunities to get the backups in and experiment with the offense some more.

Score Prediction: 56-21 Texas A&M
