No. 2: The Texas A&M Football team would absolutely dismantle Iowa State in a head-to-head matchup

Maybe I’m too much of a skeptic, but I don’t think Iowa State had done nearly enough to deserve a top ten ranking entering this season.

Talent-wise, they’re way behind every other team in the top ten by a mile. None of their active recruiting classes are in the top-40 and as petty as that sounds, that’s all I need to call Iowa State a team full of frauds.

Oh, and they just barely beat Northern Iowa, an FCS team that people wouldn’t know of if not for their consistent matchups against Iowa and Iowa State. They snuck out of that game by a 6-point margin.

The cyclones are extremely well-coached and have been pretty successful in the Big 12. At the end of the day though, they’re the type of squad who is going to create chaos within the conference consistently without managing to be a title-contending team. They’re a fringe top-25 squad that can knock off any top team at any given moment.

With all due respect to Matt Campbell and his program, Texas A&M would absolutely demolish Iowa State if the two teams played today. It wouldn’t even be close.
