The Texas A&M Football team’s defense is the best that Arkansas will have seen to this point

Arkansas has an impressive resume up to this point. There’s no denying that their dominant wins over Rice, Texas, and Georgia Southern were convincing, but they’ll be facing a whole new beast in Texas A&M.

Among the three teams that the Razorbacks previously faced in 2021, the best defense among them belongs to Texas. The Longhorns have the 75th-best unit in the country in total defense, signifying the fact that Arkansas has had it relatively easy on offense thus far this season.

Texas A&M will not roll over the same way that these two opponents have.

The Aggies have allowed just two offensive touchdowns on the year, leading a top ten unit in total defense. A&M has allowed just 3.64 yards per play, which stands at third in the nation.

A small issue here for the Aggies will be their preference to play strong pass defense over strong rush defense. They currently have the best passing defense in the country, while their rushing defense stands in the middle of the pack. Arkansas has one of the best rushing offenses in the country, so this could cause a huge clash.

Still, you have to favor the Aggies’ defense over a less talented Arkansas attack. I won’t speak on the offensive side of the ball for Jimbo Fisher, but it’s hard to see the Hogs dropping another 40-burger on Saturday night.
