The Texas A&M football team continued its hot streak on Saturday. This time around, the Aggies knocked off a highly-ranked Auburn team in what was supposed to be a close contest.
Spoiler alert — it wasn’t. Instead, Texas A&M dominated the game, outgaining Auburn by nearly 200 yards and winning the game 20-3. It was arguably the best win of any College Football Playoff contender this past weekend.
In this contest, a few players came up big. Today, I’m ranking the top three Aggie performers against Auburn.
Texas A&M Football Player No. 3: RB Isaiah Spiller
Spiller will be the only offensive player on this list because, quite frankly, the Aggies’ offense didn’t have a very impressive performance. Texas A&M did manage to accumulate over 400 yards, but the team didn’t score an offensive touchdown on the night.
Still, Darrell Dickey’s offense managed to move the wall pretty well thanks to a strong performance from Isaiah Spiller. On the night, Spiller rushed for 112 yards on 21 carries. Again, it wasn’t the greatest performance in the world, but he brought consistency to the offense.
It’s also worth giving Devon Achane a shoutout, as he rushed for 98 yards on just ten carries, posting another impressive yards per carry number of 9.8. These two runningbacks continue to have one of the best 1-2 punches of any duo in the conference.
