Advantage No. 3: The Texas A&M football team has better coaching than the LSU football team

Again, there’s not a truly tangible way to measure this, but anybody will agree — the Texas A&M football team has significantly better coaching than LSU.

Current turbulence at LSU aside, this is a rare contest between two coaches who have won a college football National Championship. Orgeron won at LSU just two seasons ago, while Jimbo Fisher won one at Florida State nearly a decade ago.

Somehow, Orgeron is the one on the chopping block.

The best way to tell who has the coaching advantage here is simple — just look at the trajectory comparison between these two programs. LSU peaked and has been unable to even form a shadow of what it was in 2019, while Texas A&M has consistently punched above its weight class and continues to improve.

Even in a disappointing three-loss season, Jimbo Fisher looks like one of the best head coaches in the entire country.

Next. Jalen Wydermyer is a finalist for this huge award. dark

I’ll take the guy who earned a 10-year contract after his last season over the one who was fired after two poor seasons.
