1. WR Evan Stewart

The spot that seems to be most likely filled by a freshman is the third wide receiver spot, and Evan Stewart is primed to take it. Stewart was the #11 recruit in the nation and the second-ranked receiver. He has a skill level that is ready to compete at the SEC level and he could quickly move up the depth chart throughout the season.

The Texas product was a track star in high school and has elite receiver skills. That mix is uncommon heading into college, and he could not be in a better position to compete for first-team snaps.

Senior wide receiver Ainias Smith is expected to be the primary target for whoever starts at quarterback, but the second spot is up for grabs between Stewart, redshirt senior Jalen Preston, and redshirt junior Chase Lane.

Stewart has the highest ceiling out of anyone in this group, and barring any injury or major developmental issues, he should develop fairly quickly so long as the quarterback situation isn’t a complete dumpster fire. The five-star recruit could be a superstar much sooner rather than later, and it’s going to be very exciting to see what he can provide this offense.
