Miami (Coaches Poll Ranking #17)

2021 Offensive Ranking: 23rd

2021 Defensive Ranking: 85th

Going from Nick Saban’s long-tenured reign in Alabama to the newly hired head coach for the Hurricanes in Mario Cristobal makes you wonder why this game would be an important one. Well, it’s a pretty easy one to see. The Aggies’ defense will be facing a very good offense led by Tyler Van Dyke, who is able to elevate the players around him and make this a dangerous offensive unit. You also have to take into account that they have a new offensive coordinator, so what we could see out of this offense may surprise this tough Aggie defense.

This Aggies’ defense will need to make sure that they are able to collapse the pocket around Van Dyke and make things difficult for him in order to keep this offense from gaining confidence. As for the Aggies’ offense, they will have a tougher time against this Miami defense that is returning quite a few players, so you can expect this 85th-ranked defense to be better this season. If they are able to pick up this victory, that would be another top-25 ranked team notch in their belt and that always looks good to the playoff selection committee.
