Pick Analysis. Grade. B. 4. player. Scouting Report. Quarterbacks. 873

Starters: B-

Bench: B

Young talent: A+

The quarterback room is intriguing and is one of the best in the nation. There will be at least an average starter this season, whether that is Haynes King or Max Johnson remains to be seen, but whoever backs up the other will be an above-average backup.

Each has their pros and cons in their talent level and playstyle. King is more of the improvisor, one who can extend plays and provide more big-play ability, however with this style of play, more turnovers can occur. Johnson brings a more pocket passer style, where he will manage the game and not make too many mistakes. The knock against Johnson is the ceiling is lower and he can hold onto the ball for too long, making getting sacked a frequent occurrence.

The young talent in this position group is obviously the five-star recruit Conner Weigman. Weigman is the future at the quarterback position for the Aggies and he can have the chance to start as early as next season, assuming no injuries happen this season. This spot is in good hands for 2022 and beyond.
