One of the most hyped Texas A&M football recruits in recent memory has made his mark during training camp. Five-star wide receiver Evan Stewart comes in as the second-highest rated Aggie recruit in 247sports history, and he has been showing why that was the case this offseason.

Stewart has consistently been playing with the first-team in practices, scrimmages, and drills. He not only is running with the first-team, but he also is standing out and is looking like the clear best receiver on the entire team.

He has been showing great hands, outstanding route running, and explosive breaks that makes him a prototype WR1. Despite most fans expecting big things from Ainias Smith, which can still most certainly be the case, Stewart could have a much bigger impact than initially expected.

Texas A&M football prodigy Evan Stewart is looking like the best receiver in College Station.

Stewart is a 5’11, 170-pound ball of fire who brings an all-around skillset to the Aggies’ wide receiver room. His playstyle is one that makes for a quarterback’s favorite target. He has track speed, soft hands, and creates separation like no other in his class. He is effective in every aspect of the game, whether that is short passes, or deep routes, he finds a way to get open.

What makes the five-star prospect a prime candidate for the most targets in the group is just that; his ability to consistently get open. His biggest battle for targets in the offense will be Smith, and it’s looking like he’s beginning to gain an edge over him. He is just that naturally talented.

Do not be surprised if Stewart is this team’s wide receiver one and leads the team in essentially every receiving category. Ainias Smith may be the veteran of this group, but with the lack of any other players sticking out in training camp, Stewart could be the quarterback’s go-to guy, whoever that may be.
