Texas A&M football is coming into the college football season with high expectations. Starting off the season ranked in the top-10 in both the AP and the coaches’ polls are some pretty high praise, especially for a team who just figured out their quarterback competition a week before their season starts.

Many Aggies have been selected for preseason awards, honors, and spots on All-America teams. Ranking at No. 6 in the initial poll gives an idea that they believe the Aggies are very much in the race for a College Football Playoff spot.

On Saturday, the College GameDay crew gave their College Football Playoff predictions, and everyone was pretty in sync as far as who to expect. Everyone had Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State in their top fours. Except for one person.

Former wide receiver and University of Michigan legend, and now College GameDay analyst Desmond Howard put Texas A&M in his final four for his College Football Playoff prediction. Not only that, but he had them winning the whole thing over his alma mater.

While a Texas A&M-Michigan playoff matchup isn’t the most impossible sounding thing in the world, he had a couple other teams involved that helped set social media ablaze. Instead of opting for the likely options like Alabama, Georgia, or Ohio State, he left all three of them out, and instead had Pittsburgh and Baylor in the mix.

He has the Aggies beating Pitt and Michigan handling Baylor to create this north-south championship showdown. It’s not very surprising he left off OSU because of his personal rivalry with the team, but to choose A&M over Alabama and Georgia is bold to say the least, but we are certainly here for it.
