Outlook vs. the Bearkats

Texas A&M matches up very well against Sam Houston State. They have the stars to take over against the Bearkats, and despite their recent success, the talent level is far below what the Aggies have.

Going against an FCS defense for an FBS team normally isnโ€™t an issue. Not only that, but that FCS defense lost its best defensive back and their leading pass-rusher last season. Haynes King and the Aggie offense should have no problem putting up point with the speed and talent they have on offense.

The defense should have a field day against a team with a new quarterback on the opposing side. It will be a great opportunity to get worthwhile snaps for the new guys on defense and see what they can offer against decent competition. I donโ€™t expect the Aggie defense to struggle much against the Kats.

Overall, this should be a lopsided win for Texas A&M. I respect what SHSU has done recently, but they are just not anywhere near as talented as the Aggies, let alone almost any other Power 5 squad. Expect the Ags to put this one away quick and see backups in the game around the third quarter of this one.
