Texas A&M Football OC Candidates: Kirby Moore, Missouri

I wrote on Moore earlier this week, as I think this would not only be a very realistic option but a big hit as well. Moore was behind a huge offensive turnaround for the Tigers this year. Even after losing one of their top receivers, Dominic Lovett, to UGA, Mizzou has exploded with a big time aerial attack.

They are in no way one-dimensional, however; Cody Schrader, their running back, has had a huge year on the ground behind a Joe Moore-nominated offensive line. Through 12 games, he’s racked up 1499 yards on 247 attempts and also notched 191 yards on 22 receptions. Not too shabby!

A plus of bringing Moore in is that he may be able to poach the Missouri OL coach as well, who has obviously acquitted himself well this year. Moore has the bona fides to commend him for this job, having not only authored this turnaround up in CoMo, but also having worked under Washington’s Kalen DeBoer up at Fresno State. As I wrote previously, Moore has all the marks of a rising star. That said, I’m not sure his Texas connections are the strongest, nor has there been much legitimate smoke that he may be interested (though the same could be said of anyone, as there’s been a tight lid on the search thus far).
