5 bold predictions for Texas A&M football's high-stakes showdown with Auburn
Texas A&M's road to the playoff continues on the road against Auburn.
There are a bunch of storylines around the SEC these next two weeks, and Texas A&M's part is just like Al Davis's motto, "just win, baby win."
Here are five bold predictions for the Aggies on Saturday.
Theo Melin Ohrstrom goes for 4+ catches
These needs to happen at some point again.
The athletic tight end went for over 100 yards against New Mexico State and showed plenty of life. Fans are hoping he can one day have another performance like that.
I'll say that he keeps the hot hand going and makes good use for his momentum, especially if Marcel Reed needs to heave it downfield 30 yards or so.
Randy Bond makes 2+ 50 yard attempts
This only happens if the Aggies get into an awkward position where they get into a 4th and medium in between the 30 and the 35 yard lines.
This shows how Texas A&M has to finish their drives. They can be a bit stationary when they don't finish the drives and that forces Bond to go out and kick it.
Bond has been a pretty consistent kicker all season long. I'll have no doubt he'll be ready to kick it deep if he's asked to.
Jarquez Hunter goes for 2+ touchdowns
Jarquez Hunter has been one of the bright spots for Auburn.
Texas A&M's low spot at times has been tackling. Exhibit A was in the South Carolina game where they could not bring down LaNorris Sellers or Rocket Sanders.
Hunter can be someone that the Aggie defense might have problems with.
Watch and see how the defense reacts to him, it will be a key for the Aggies winning tomorrow.
Marcel Reed goes for 300+ all-purpose yards
Reed has been a one-dimensional quarterback more times than not.
We might very well see that kind of player against the Tigers.
Reed needs to use this game as a stepping stone to get into his passing rhythm. If he doesn't, that's not a good sign going into Texas.
Reed has a chance to use this as his proof-of-concept game to pass the ball confidently.
On the road against South Carolina, Reed threw a critical interception along the sideline when they had a great shot to get back in the game.
He'll make up for this come Saturday.
Terry Bussey makes a big special teams play
We've seen plenty of love for Terry Bussey in Aggieland.
He might have his coming out party on the road in a late game.
Bussey has seen increased action game-by-game. It's time for him to make a big play in a road game with his season on the line.
He has a golden opportunity to break a big one this Saturday, and I have a feeling he does just that.
