The best case scenario for KC Concepcion is alive and well in the first round of the NFL Draft.
With the A.J. Brown drama escalating to a new level with the Eagles, it almost assures general manager Howie Roseman will look in a different direction for a new wide receiver immediately. That means the Texas A&M star WR should have a spot in the first round of the draft, and he might have found his dream team in the middle of it.
We had already figured Concepcion would have a spot in the first round, especially after he pinned himself as the best receiver in this draft. Concepcion could be picked anywhere from 20-32, and that's already a pretty nice gap in the first round.
A.J. Brown drama opens up another landing spot for KC Concepcion
With recent injury concerns to Landon Dickerson and Lane Johnson, the Eagles may be forced to pick OT Blake Miller from Clemson. It would make sense, but the Eagles could absolutely pick a WR in the first round.
Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. and Concepcion are pretty similar, and it's easy to see why the Eagles would want to find an instant replacement for Brown in the first round.
Brown is an all-time WR with plenty of height and power that's going to cause nightmares for any cornerback. Concepcion, being much shorter than him, isn't necessarily going to replace him as a jump-ball wideout, but more as a speedster who can run crisp routes.
Even if the Eagles don't call his name, Justin Melo for NFL Draft on SI has the Browns, Dolphins and Rams as potential suitors for Concepcion.
The Browns need just about everything imaginable, but Concepcion could easily get some starting reps there. After Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle departed Miami this offseason, Concepcion probably won't be picked at No. 11, but could easily be a first-round pick at No. 30. The Rams are probably a long shot, but teaming up with Puka Nacua and Matthew Stafford would be as good as it gets.
There are several routes this could go for Concepcion, but let's just say the Brown saga opened up a new door for the All-SEC First Team WR in the first round.
