After first-round snub, Scourton among most in-demand NFL Draft day two players

Texas A&M had a player picked in the first round, but by rights they really should have had two.

Texas A&M exited the first round of the NFL draft having had one defensive end selected, but they probably should have had two. Nic Scourton didn't hear his name called in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft even though he was included in many mock drafts as a mid-to-late-20s selection.

However, it's not as though things are done and dusted for Scourton— far from it, in reality. The former Aggie and Boilermaker will likely be one of the first players to have their name called in day two of the NFL Draft tomorrow, as he is one of the most high-value guys left on the board.

While this was a possibility, this also creates some great value for Scourton with some other teams. There's a stigma attached to being a first-rounder that you don't get once pick 33 begins; this is a chance to get a "first-round talent" in the second round.

Despite snub, Scourton still projects to go quickly in second round of NFL Draft

I expect Scourton to go off the board quickly. Most draft analysts and even casual fans on Twitter are listing him as one of the top players remaining after the first 32 have been selected.

The Cleveland Browns are up first in the second round, and it would be quite a sight to see if Scourton gets paired with Myles Garrett, especially with Shemar Stewart now in the division. Then come the Giants and the Titans, before the Jaguars, Raiders, and Patriots have their say. Pick 39 goes to the Bears, and I'd be really gobsmacked if Scourton slides further than that.

Even though not going in the first round is a blow for Scourton, he will no doubt bounce back quickly. There are plenty of good landing spots here in the second round, and he'll be snapped up in no time.
