Texas A&M baseball is on the brink of their season being brought to an end. At the beginning of the year, the notion that such a statement would be true at this point in the year would be nigh unthinkable, given that most of the discussion was based on what national seed the Aggies would end up with rather than whether they'd even hae the bonafides to make the tourney.
However, this is where the Aggies find themselves. Their only lifeline at this point seems to be sweeping through the SEC Tournament, taking down some real heavy-hitters along the way, and gaining automatic qualifier status to force their way into the field.
That's a tall order, and it got taller last night when the Aggies' game against Mississippi State was forced to this morning thanks to a weather delay. That means that, if A&M wins this morning, they'll play again tonight... and the next day... and the next day... and so on, as long as they keep winning.
However, this break has allowed the Aggies to make a tactical shift that could be a game-changer for this initial contest.
Texas A&M now planning to start ace Ryan Prager against Mississippi State in SEC Tournament after weather delay
After initially planning to start midweek pitcher Weston Moss against the Bulldogs, this delay has allowed the Aggies to shift their tack. Instead of Moss taking the mound, it will be ace Ryan Prager.
Thanks to last nights game being postponed, Texas A&M baseball now plans to start ace Ryan Prager against Mississippi State in the first round of the SEC Tournament, per a source.

First pitch is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. CT.
With first pitch now minutes away, the Aggies will need a stellar performance on the mound if they want to move on, especially considering the way they have been hitting— or, more accurately, not hitting— the baseball over the past few games.
However, if guys like Jace LaViolette can reclaim their previous form, this could be the beginning of the tear through Hoover that the Aggies need to keep their season alive. With their backs against the wall, it will be extremely interesting to see how A&M responds, especially with their head coach's job potentially on the line.
