Marcel Reed and his coaching staff did their best to assure Texas A&M fans that they have nothing to worry about at the quarterback position.
The Aggies' main question coming into the season was how Reed's sophomore transition was going to go, especially after the Aggies' slump late last season against South Carolina, Auburn and USC. The Texas A&M football 'X' account heard the flaws about Reed and responded to it with a video of their own.
Now, Reed is already getting looks at one of the more prestigious awards in college football, and it's everything Aggies fans have been wanting to see.

Reed at least has plenty of leg to stand on here. Even though his accuracy looked fairly raw in his first action last season, he has more of a ceiling to judge for now when we compare Reed to Texas quarterback Arch Manning.
Manning was likely not included because of limited action during the 2024 season. That probably won't stop SEC media people like Paul Finebaum to give his two cents on why the committee was wrong to exclude Arch, as Finebaum was on record this summer comparing Arch's upcoming 2025 season to Tim Tebow's best.
This wasn't really a slap in the face to anybody more worthy, but it made for more of a chuckle among the folks in Aggieland.
This is not only elite company for Reed to be looked at as possibly the best quarterback in college football, but it also gives the haters one less narrative to talk about. If Reed can be the quarterback that Collin Klein is expecting, it could be a huge year for the Aggies in SEC play.
