Texas A&M's game against Florida, while the channel and exact kick time are still yet to be set, will officially be a night game in Kyle Field.

This will be the second-straight night kickoff for Texas A&M, as the Aggies are set to play Mississippi State in a night game this weekend.

This will also in all likelihood be the final night kick at home for the Aggies this year, unless the game against Samford is a late kick as well. After playing Florida, the Aggies will set out on a three-game road trip that will take them to Fayetteville, AR, Baton Rouge, LA, and Columbia, MO. After that, they'll return home for an early kickoff against the South Carolina Gamecocks, and then they'll play Samford before heading to Austin for the Lone Star Showdown.

The decision to have the Aggies play South Carolina early in the day is a little bit mystifying, but this announcement about the Florida game at least means the Aggies get the maximum amount of night games that they could have gotten headed into the season.

Texas A&M officially set to play Florida in much-desired night kickoff

The Gators will be coming to Kyle off of a week where they host the Texas Longhorns in the Swamp, in what is almost guaranteed to be a physical, grind-it-out, defensive contest. Both teams haven't shown much on offense, but both teams have flashed some excellent defensive play.

That bodes well for the Aggies, as the body-blow theory would favor A&M when the Gators venture to Kyle. The crowd will no doubt also be absolutely voracious for this game: Aggie fans love their night games, just like every college football fan, and if they can defeat Mississippi State this weekend, a move to 6-0 on the year could be on the line.

That, combined with the fact that it will be the final chance to see the Aggies play at home for nearly a month, means that the 12th Man will be in full effect for this game. Oh, and they're planning a special throwback uniform for this game as well... in other words, expect another record-setting crowd in College Station.
