Aggies remain in place while latest round of CFB Playoff rankings continue to raise questions

Texas A&M remains at number 3 in the latest CFB Playoff rankings. Questions still continue to arise with how teams are ranked this season.

In tonight's latest CFB rankings, the committee kept the Aggies at number 3. While not a surprising ranking to anyone, questions continue to arise with how multiple teams have been ranked this year.

Let's start with why Oregon was vaulted over Ole Miss, who was on a bye, but Texas A&M hasn't been vaulted over Indiana, who was also on a bye? While I do think that Indiana should probably be ranked above Texas A&M, the committee continues to apply certain rules in one case but not others. Where is the consistency?

Texas has two such cases that raise questions. First off, what did Michigan and Texas do this past week for Michigan to jump over Texas ? is the committee just setting it up so that if Michigan beats Ohio State this weekend, they're in? I would agree that Michigan should be ranked higher than Texas, but nothing from this past weekend warranted Michigan jumping Texas in the rankings.

Another question arises with how Pittsburgh is ranked higher than Georgia Tech, with a head-to-head win but a worse record, while Vanderbilt is ranked higher than Texas with a better record but a head-to-head loss.

See the pattern? Rules haven't been applied consistently. As much as I love that it has been Texas that has received the short end of the stick, there will be even more outrage if these inconsistencies continue in the last two rankings of the season.
