Texas A&M fans just had their worst fears about the LSU game confirmed, as the SEC announced today that the Aggies will have to play in Death Valley in a premier night game.

This really isn't a huge surprise, in all honesty, given the records of both squads— most people expected this to be the time frame for this matchup when you look at all the games that are being played on that Saturday. Still, though, the Aggies will have to take on the Tigers in hopes of breaking a long losing streak in Baton Rouge in the toughest possible conditions.
Texas A&M's game against LSU will be the second half of a back to back road SEC game slate for the Aggies, as they visit the Arkansas Razorbacks this Saturday. Going 2-0 on such trips is an extreme rarity in this conference and is only ever accomplished by national title-level teams (at least, when one of the legs does not involve heading to Nashville— sorry, Vanderbilt, but that's not exactly the definition of an intimidating home environment).

The Tigers get a disproportionate number of their home conference games at night when you look at the numbers, but that makes sense given their reputation for having one of the best home environments in the country. That said, that environment was apparently not that intimidating against South Carolina this past Saturday night as things continue to spiral under coach Brian Kelly.
The Aggies avoided this trap with their game at Arkansas, but it looks like LSU will be a different story. They'll have to earn every single bit of this win if they are to emerge victorious— and it will be positively massive for the program if they do.
This is a massive opportunity for the Aggies, and now that it's set in stone, all they can do is go out and play. This cements that each of the big three road games that Texas A&M plays this season will be night games— Notre Dame was, Texas will be, and now we know LSU is. There's a few things to like about this matchup with the Bayou Bengals, too— but we'll get to that more once game week arrives.
