After Florida's loss to Auburn, Texas A&M basketball is now alone at the top of the SEC rankings. Even the team behind Florida, which is Kentucky, has had their fair of early season frustrations.
This is unexpected from everybody. A&M fans knew that Bucky McMillan would bring his style of fast-paced offense and press defense, but opponents are already worn out. Rylan Griffen kept it honest with Mississippi State's Josh Hubbard when he asked Griffen to stop pressing on defense. Griffen hilariously responded by saying, we're not stopping.
It's part of what has the Aggies as the top team in the SEC now.
Texas A&M's Bucky McMillan has taken the Aggies to the top of the SEC
It's still early, but it means a lot to do all of this without their best player, Mackenzie Mgbako. Mgbako came in from Indiana after two solid seasons, and everybody was ready to see the former Hoosier light it up on the court.
Since his season-ending injury, it's been up to others like Zach Clemence, who had 21 points against South Carolina. This is nice to look at now, but the tough part is coming soon for Bucky's boys.
Things you didn’t think you’d tweet: Texas A&M is 16-4 after losing Mackenzie Mgbako to a season-ending injury.

Buzz Williams, on the other hand, is taking Maryland basketball down the drain. They're on pace for one of their worst seasons in school history.
Georgia, Alabama and Florida will be next for Texas A&M. All three of those teams are ranked, and two of those will be on the road. It's an interesting test to see what they can do against three of those teams with the players they have now.
Rashaun Agee has looked every bit like the first-round pick McMillan has been boasting about. With Mgbako not there, McMillan has called Agee the face of Texas A&M basketball. Sort of out of left field, but his ferocious, tough playing style has been monstrous this season.
Pop Isaacs has shot lights out, and is thriving under McMillan's system. Griffen is picking up exactly where he left off, and averaging over 11 points a game with A&M.
This is incredible for Texas A&M, but it's still early.
